| The Ladies’ Section is a friendly group of approximately 90 ladies made up of both 5 day and 7 day members. The ladies share equal rights on the course and additionally have regular dedicated tee times. New members are always welcome and their immediate involvement in the section is made easy through our ‘Godmother’ system.
Throughout the year there is a structured format for regular competitions, special golf days, fun events and Spring and Autumn breaks. There is also further opportunity to play in both ladies’ and mixed friendly matches with other clubs, as well as playing in other more formal internal and external competitions.
There is an active bridge section for friendly games throughout the year as well as a Winter League which involves matches against other golf clubs. The Ladies’ Section also supports nominated charities through a mix of bridge, social and golf activities.
The formal ladies’ committee meets monthly and the Ladies’ Captain and Vice Captain contribute to all the other club committees. Information is thus shared and published. The Annual General Meeting is in October each year and the new Lady Captain and her committee take office in November.
My charity for 2010 - 2011 is The East Surrey Care Service of the Alzheimer’s Association. This service provides support for sufferers of Dementia and their carers. It takes the form of:

A Home Support Service whereby carers have a break whilst their relatives are looked after.

Day Centres: (1) Bletchingley Community Centre (in the village hall) for residents in the Tandridge area. (2) The Byre (Pendell Road) for residents of Reigate/Redhill, Merstham and Horley.

A Telephone Advice Service.

The Dementia Support Service supplying weekly or fortnightly visits to give carers the guidance and advice they require.
